Relaxing in SF Over Labor Day Weekend

This is Labor Day Weekend starting today (for some lucky ducks) and the idea of 3 days of sans-labor, fun, exciting or culturally-infused times is ridiculously delightful.

So, what to do this weekend? The weather is pretty darn SF good, starting with sunny today. Partly cloudy tomorrow, but sunny Sunday and Monday, and averaging about 67 degrees daytime—Monday will be a balmy 69 degrees.

Here are some highlights:

Orpheum Theater is staging Beautiful, the popular stage production of Carole King’s blazing path to stardom. There are four performances this weekend.

The San Francisco Fest on Sunday at AT&T Park features a hot, fab line up with Journey, Santana, Steve Miller Band, and The Dobbie Brothers. Starts at 3p.m.

Tonight (Friday Night) there’s a midnight cruise party for 21+ people that cruises the Bay for 3 hours, outfitted with two DJs, a cash bar fully loaded. Departs from Pier 40 at 9p.m. There’s also the 90-minute Privateer cruise running on Saturday, Sunday and Monday at 3 times a day.

Union Square Live gives San Franciscans free live music and dance performances on Labor Day Weekend, Sunday, from 2p.m. to 4p.m.

For the ye olde literary minded there’s Shakespeare in the Park, free to the public as part of the San Francisco Shakespeare Festival. Staged at the Presidio Main Post Parade Ground Lawn. Come early to grab a place on the lawn. 2 p.m. on Saturday, Sunday and Monday.

Sausalito Art Festival over in the Marin side of the Bay is regarded as one of the best arts festivals in our Bay Area. Great, new art on view and plenty of choice wine, foodie food and artisan beers. Labor Day Monday, from 9a.m. to 5p.m.
