Five Top SF Restaurants According to BizJournal Readers

Okay, the results are in on the poll that we mentioned in a blog last week to see what readers of bizjournals.com think are the top restaurants in our beloved foodie city. The poll asked for each pollee’s most favored three eateries, based on atmosphere, quality, value for price, and whether its good for doing business. Scores were based on these criteria with a point system assigned.

Over one hundred readers did the poll. As for overall quality of San Francisco dining, 94 said it was “above average” or “excellent.” Six said SF’s dining scene was “average.” Only one brave person said SF was “affordable” for dining.

And only one Michelin-starred restaurant made the grade for these folks.

#1 Original Joes on Union Street at North Beach, with classic Italian and meatballs the size of baseballs.

#2 Zuni Café on Market Street in Hayes Valley, serving Mediterranean fare that’s locally sourced. Prized for its roast chicken.
