Potrero Hill homes worth talking about …
I don’t often talk about all the great homes I preview on Tuesday Tour. My focus last week was in and around Potrero Hill. While there’s lots of chatter about San Francisco single family homes averaging $1M these days, there are still some nice opportunities in the condo market.
One of my favorites was a pretty Edwardian flat on Potrero Hill at 542 Vermont. This full flat with parquet hardwood floors and classic views out the front windows helped me remember why I love to sell in San Francisco. It’s also listed for $699,000 AND it has parking. Worth the trip if you are on a budget and don’t mind a bit of freeway noise (which is pretty much par-for-the-course for any home on the Hill’s west slope).
I also went by the Sierra Heights condominiums and got a refresher on that building with its 67 condos nestled on Potrero’s southwest slope. Many of the homes here are noted for their substantial square footage. If you want a living room big enough to roller skate in, this is the place to start.
There are two homes for sale at Sierra Heights right now. Both are more than 1900 square feet. Here is a link to the one Paragon has for sale. Another big draw for this building is its proximity to the 23rd Street Caltrain station, where bullet trains can launch you straight South to the Silicon Valley. It’s also within walking distance to Potrero Hill’s sweet commercial district on 18th Street and the burgeoning Dogpatch District.
I also held open my own Potrero Hill listing at 1133 De Haro and some buyers came through who are seriously considering making an offer — they had been looking at lofts, but figured out that this home’s family room down could serve as an excellent office for their high-tech blogging business. I would definitely call 1133 De Haro a house with “lofty” aspirations with its vaulted ceilings, multiple skylights and open, airy floor plan. Feel free to call for an appointment. It’s vacant and easy to show.
