This Weekend: 11th Annual San Francisco Parol Lantern Festival and Parade

As part of the annual Yerba Buena Gardens Festival, Saturday will mark the eleventh annual San Francisco Parol Lantern Festival and Parade. Scheduled for 5 p.m. in Jessie Square, the event is a showcase for the local Filipino community’s parol lantern, a symbol of hope, luck, blessings, peace and light during the holiday season.

This year’s theme is “Liwanag para sa tanan: Enlightenment for All”. The schedule is as follows:

5PM: Entertainment & Parol Gallery in Jessie Square
6:15PM: Parade Starts at Yerba Buena Gardens
6:30PM: Music, Gimme Games, and Tala Awards in Jessie Square
