This Weekend: Bay Area Pet Fair & Adoptathon
Looking for your next furry best friend? This weekend could be your lucky day – take your pick, Saturday or Sunday. On both days you can attend the Bay Area Pet Fair & Adoptathon, which will be held from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Marin Center, located at 10 Avenue of the Flags in San Rafael. (You can’t miss it – it’s right off 101!)
Sponsored by Pet Food Express, Nylabone and Pinnacle, among other pet-loving companies, the event features the most adoptable animals in one place anywhere in Northern California. You’ll find amazing rescues such as Northern California Family Dog Rescue, Hopalong Animal Rescue & Second Chance Rescue, Maine Coon Adoptions, Lily’s Legacy Senior Dog Sanctuary and North Star Rescue. You’ll also find exhibitors including All Hounds Apparel, Central Marin Cat and Exotic Hospital, Paco Collars, Save Our Recreation and Second Chance Greetings.
Not yet ready to commit to a new pet? Come anyway! There will be events including Splash Dogs, Barnyard Pals, Bossa Nova music from Pulse Brasil, the Novato Police Department K-9 Demonstration and Tillman, the Skating Bulldog. Add in the fact that admission is free and you can’t go wrong!
Rescue animals make some of the best pets you can imagine. Best of all is knowing that you’ve saved a life and given a worthy animal a home! Your new pet will almost certainly come home with you already having been spayed or neutered, but if not, please remember that spaying and neutering prevents more unwanted and homeless animals. Pass the word on!
