This Weekend: Good Food Awards Marketplace

A huge part of living in the Bay Area is an appreciation of good food. Why not celebrate that passion in style this Saturday at the Good Food Awards Marketplace? The event kicks off at 9 a.m. and runs until 2 p.m. at the city’s iconic Ferry Building, with general admission tickets selling for a mere $5 each. Doors are open for early access at 8 a.m., with VIP Access tickets available for the opportunity to be the first to taste and buy winning products before the general public can get its hands on them – as well as a special gift.

During the event, this year’s Good Food Award winners will be showcasing their wares in a special Winners Marketplace. Attendees will have the opportunity to sample the award-winning food and drink for themselves at this annual event. Last year, there were 30,000 food lovers doing the tasting. This year may very well be just as crowded!

The Good Food Awards were created with the aim of redefining good food as tasty, authentic and responsible. The event’s principles include:

· Tasty: Food is delicious, bringing joy to those who consume it

· Authentic: No artificial ingredients, food as an expression of tradition and culture

· Responsible: Respect and fair compensation as core values, ingredients grown without synthetic fertilizer or pesticides, good animal husbandry is practiced.

This year’s winners include:

· Bear Republic Brewing Company

· The French Bulldog

· Bellwether Farms

· Glendale Shepherd

· Guittard Chocolate Company

· Intelligentsia Coffee

· Panther Coffee

· Nosh This

· Berkeley Olive Grove
