This Weekend: ICB Winter Open Studios

There’s no shortage of art in the Bay Area, but this event is special. The ICB Winter Open Studios celebrates its 45th anniversary this year, with more than 80 visual artists opening their studios to the public in Sausalito. Located at Gallery 111, 480 Gate 5 Road, Sausalito, the event features, among other things, a two-day event focusing on the works of photographer Dennis Kohn.

For this special anniversary, the collective of artists has been inspired by Warhol’s screen tests, with all artists exposed on video. Screen tests will be projected on the walls and looped to create an impressive art installation – what the San Francisco Chronicle calls “the artists’ 40 seconds of fame all weekend long.”

Located in a historic World War II-era industrial building, the artists reside in lofts and work in media ranging from painting to sculpture to jewelry and printmaking. Artists involved include Leslie Allen, Jay Graham, Cindy Miracle, Darcy Sears and Hilary Sloss.

The event takes place beginning today and runs through Sunday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Enjoy!
