What’s Cooking in Large Scale SF Construction

Construction cranes are busting out in several districts of San Francisco, the most conspicuous sign of a city rebuilding itself. What’s going up in the commercial real estate world are hotel/condo, office, retail, health care, sports and transit projects. It’s a summertime of buildings coming to crop. There are currently 50 projects under the cranes, at a combined cost of $14.3 billion. Included are the new super-duper home of the NBA 2017 champions, the Golden State Warriors, the new Sales force Tower and the Cathedral Hill Hospital.

In the residential real estate world there are, among the top 10 biggest projects, two big ones: 181 Fremont with 67 condos perched in the 802-foot tall tower, above 420,000 square feet of office space; Oceanwide Center (at First and Mission) with condos, a hotel and office space split between two towers. A cool $1.6 billion for this project.
